About

Silva Joseph B. is an independent editorial project documenting the people, places and everyday moments that quietly shape city life.

The archive begins in Liverpool and grows wherever belonging can be found.

SJB was named after Silva Joseph Baptista, carrying family heritage from Toxteth and Southend, Liverpool into a new generation. That history gives the project its roots, but does not limit where it can go.

As the archive grows, it will travel to other cities and communities. The locations may change, but the approach remains the same: observe closely, preserve what is often overlooked and place people before performance.
